Tarheel Lumber Company, Inc. is a full-service retail building supply and lumber firm. Founded by seven builders interested in supply options in 1978, Tarheel Lumber began operations just down the road from its present ten acres, expanding to the abandoned former Statesville Chair Co.'s manufacturing facility early in 1998.
Tarheel Lumber Company sells mainly to the contractors, remodelers and commercial developers. Tarheel Lumber Company offers a wide variety of quality products, excellent service and competitive prices.
Offices are located alongside the busy retail store in the 17,000 square foot main building. A storage warehouse is at its rear in which finished lumber and moulding are stored in neat, well- labeled racks. Plywood and OSB are on shelves and are easily accessible through our drive thru warehouse.
Dry Storage areas contain extensive treated lumber and composite decking inventory as well as Southern Yellow Pine framing lumber and long lengths (up to 32'). Tarheel stocks a complete inventory of spruce in the following sizes: 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, 2x10 and 2x12. We also stock a large inventory of LVL's and engineered joists.
Tarheel Lumber Company has a 10,000 square foot millwork warehouse stocking MW twin seal vinyl windows, steel & fiberglass exterior doors and a complete inventory of interior pre-hung elite doors and bi-folds.
Inside the retail store is an extensive line of builders’ hardware and tools including such brands as Kwikset, Titan and Schlage locks, Makita & DeWalt tools, as well as a larger inventory of Paslode nail guns and nails for every job. Customers can view displays for power tools for such brand names as Makita, DeWalt, and Powermaster. The retail store area also serves as a well appointed planning area containing brick & roofing samples, MW and Avonni windows and doors, Therma-Tru exterior doors, stair parts and other custom items needed in the planning a quality built project.
